Multiple Vacancies at CSIR - CIMAP || Freshers and Experienced can Apply

Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, popularly known as CIMAP, is a frontier plant research laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). CIMAP is steering multidisciplinary high quality research in biological and chemical sciences and extending technologies and services to the farmers and entrepreneurs of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs). CIMAP Research Centres are aptly situated in different agro-climatic zones of the country to facilitate multi-location field trials and research.
CIMAP’s contribution to the Indian economy through its MAPs research is well known. Mint varieties released and agro-packages developed and popularised by CIMAP has made India the global leader in mints and related industrial products. CIMAP has released several varieties of the MAPs, their complete agro-technology and post harvest packages which have revolutionised MAPs cultivation and business scenario of the country.
CSIR - CIMAP have organized a walk-in interview for engagement, on purely temporary basis, as Project Assistants of different level/ Junior Research Fellows (Projects)/ Senior Research Fellows (Projects)/ Research Associate (Projects) on contract basis in the Projects under CSIR Network Scheme, Grant - in - aid Projects and other projects sponsored by Government Agencies tenable at CSIR - CIMAP, Lucknow in various disciplines detailed as under:
1. P.A. Level - II
  • Qualifications: M.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences
  • Experience: 1-2 years
  • Desired Skills: Experience of working in lab and field relating to medicinal and aromatic plants and knowledge of computer applications.
  • 2. Junior Research Fellow/ Senior Research Fellow
    • Qualifications: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Life Science
    • Experience: 1-2 years
    • Desired Skills: Net - LS qualified. Experience in techniques used in plant molecular biology. In case SRF two years experience as JRF is essential.
    3. P.A. Level II/ Junior Research Fellow
    • Qualifications: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Life Science
    • Experience: 1-2 years
    • Desired Skills: NET - LS qualified. Experience in techniques used in plant molecular biology.
    4. Junior Research Fellow/ P.A. Level II
    • Qualifications: M.Sc./ M.Tech. in Biotechnology/ Life Science
    • Experience: 1 year
    • Desired Skills: NET - LS/ GATE qualified. One year research experience in Genetic mapping/Genotyping R&D project(s) with published paper(s) in journal of repute.
    5. P.A. Level II
    • Qualifications: M.Sc. in Botany/ Zoology
    • 6. P.A. Level II
      • Qualifications: M.Sc in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Botany.
      7. P.A. Level III
      • Qualifications: M.Sc./ M.Tech Bioinfirmatics
      • Experience: 2 years
      • Desired Skills: Two years research experience in DNA Barcoding.
      8. P.A. Level II
      • Qualifications: M.Sc./ M.Tech Bioinformatics
      • Experience: 1-2 years
      • Desired Skills: Hand on experience in Bioinformatics tools.
      9. P.A. Level III
      • Qualifications: M.Sc. in Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Agriculture/ Botany.
      • Experience: 2 years
      • Desired Skills: Two years experience in in Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Agriculture/ Botany.
      • 10. P.A. Level II
        • Qualification: M.Sc. in Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Agriculture/ Botany.
        11. Project Level II
        • Qualifications: M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Botany
        • Experience: 1-2 years
        • Desired Skills: Work experience on Plant molecular biology and transgenic plants, specifically cloning of genes, determining the function and transgenic plants.
