Walk in Interview for two JRF posts at IHBT | Freshers can apply

The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology,Palampur (CSIR-IHBT) is one of the National Institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research which is an Autonomous Body. It is located on a 250 acres of land with the backdrop of snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar Range in salubrious climate. The Institute is engaged in research and technology development programmes for sustainable management of bioresources of the Himalayas. The Institute has successfully carried out mission-oriented projects on tea, temperate floriculture and aromatic plants and is well equipped for Tissue culture and Biotechnology. Facilities include Tea Processing Unit, FRP greenhouses and equipments like GC-MS, FT-IR,Ultrascan, Automated DNA sequencers, Phosphoimager, Q-TOF, XL Laser densitometer,HPLCs, MALDI-TOF,CONFOCAL MICROSCOPY, CO2 Extractor, FPLC, HP-TLC, IRGA, NMR, Scintillation counter, computer networking etc.
Walk-in-Interview are scheduled to be held on the dates mentioned against the positions in the respective column for preparation of selection panels of candidates in the following areas under the different Sponsored and Network Projects on purely temporary basis for the duration of the project(s) or till completion of Project whichever is earlier subject to the condition to total duration as Project Fellow inCSIR should not exceed five years :-
  • Project entiled : Diversity analysis and bioprospecting of therapeutic cyanobacteria from north Himalayas for industrial value addition
  • Position : Junior Research Fellow
  • No of Post : Two
  • Age : 28 years as on 21.11.13
  • Remuneration : Rs 16000/- + HRA
  • Desired Profile : M.Sc in Biotechnology/Plant Pathology/Microbiology with 55% marks and CSIR UGC -NET/GATE qualification
  • Duration : Upto 2016
