Job Description:
GVKBIO is looking for highly skilled bioinformatician to develop advanced data mining and analysis pipelines to exploit the target-drug-disease association. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop novel drug repurposing approaches using the state of the art computational algorithms and methods. The candidate should have demonstrated experience in data mining methods using large scale data, hypothesis generation, and integration of diverse data sets. The candidate should identify the current gaps in the strategies & methodology and able to come up with improvements in the practiced procedures.
Job Location: Hyderabad
Educational qualification: MS/MTech/PhD in Bioinformatics or Computational biology or similar with a strong publication record.
Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in bioinformatics data analysis and biological data integration is a prerequisite for this position
Desired skills:
- Strong understanding of statistical principles behind the current best practices in computational biology
- Strong expertise in the use of one or more high-level programming languages such as C, C++, R, Python or Perl for complex data analysis.
- Web application programming/tools such as HTML, JAVA, dot net, PHP is required
- Experience with relational database is a must.
- Good understanding of common bioinformatics resources such as NCBI databases, KEGG, GO and other relevant Drug, disease and target databases
- Experience in application development is required.
- Ability to generate in-silico experimental workflows and in-depth knowledge in proprietary and public biological databases, methods and tools
