Freshers can apply for DBT sponsored project sanctioned to Tezpur University

Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology.

A walk-in interview will be held on 22 October, 2013 at 11.00 am for (01) one temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the DBT funded research project entitled “Qualitative development of vermicompost technology through isolation of novel microorganisms and their application in agricultural waste management of Assam” at the Department of Environmental Science, Tezpur University.

• Qualification : M.Sc. in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology /Microbiology /Botany/Environmental Science/Agricultural Microbiology /Agronomy/ Agricultural Biotechnology with good academic carrier.
• Age : Candidate should not be more than 28 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically challenged applicants.

• Fellowship : Rs.12,000/- (Rupees twelve thousand) only + HRA as per rules per month for the first two years and Rs. 14,000/- (Rupees fourteen thousand) only + HRA as per rules per month for the third year as SRF. If selected candidate is NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualified then JRF emolument shall be Rs. 16,000/- (Rupees sixteen thousand) only + HRA as per rules per month for the first two years and Rs. 18,000/- (Rupees eighteen thousand) only + HRA as per rules per month for the third year as SRF.
• Duration : Initially for a period of two (02) years which may be extended till completion of the project or until further order, whichever is earlier.

The interested candidates must submit their CV within 10.30 a.m. of 22/10/2013. They also must carry their original certificates of educational qualifications and valid proof(s) of research experience. N.B. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview
