The Centre for Bioinformatics of Pondicherry University, fully funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India invites applications for Studentship and Traineeship in various areas of Bioinformatics.

• Post : Studentship/ Traineeship
• Qualifications: The candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree in Bioinformatics / Life Sciences /Biotechnology or B.Tech Degree in Bioinformatics.
• Duration: Initially for a period of six months, extendable up to one year.
• Mode of Selection: Short listed candidates will be called for an interview.
• Emoluments: Rs.5,000/- per month

CUSAT invites Applications, in plain paper, for the position of Research Associate (1 No.) and Junior Research Fellow (2 No.) in CMLRE-MoES sponsored project entitled “Screening, extraction and identification of bioactive molecules from deep sea organisms including bacteria”

• Post : Research Associate (1 No.)
• Qualification : First class M. Sc. in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry and Ph.D. in Biotechnology with experience in Marine Microbiology as evidenced by publications/reports.The candidate who submitted their Ph.D. Thesis are also eligible to apply.
• Monthly emoluments: Rs 22,000/- per month

• Post :  Junior Research Fellow (2 No.)
• Qualification : First class M. Sc. in Marine Biology/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry.
• Monthly emoluments: Rs 16000/- per month

Preference will be given to candidates with experience and with NET/GATE.

Selected candidates will be required to go on cruises for sample collection. Cruise duration can be 7 to 10 days on board ship.

A Walk-in-test cum interview for selection of TRAINEES, provided under a DBT sponsored "Establishment of Sub-DIC at CPCRI, Kasaragod" will be held at CPCRI, Kudlu PO, Kasaragod District, Kerala - 671 124 on 31.12.2012 at 10.00 AM.

• Post : Trainees (04)
• Qualification : Master's degree in Bioinformatics OR B.Tech. in Bioinformatics.
• Upper age limit : 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on the date of interview. (Relaxable to SC/ST/OBC candidates) as per rules.
• Stipend payable: Rs 5000/- per month.

Date,time and venue of interview : The candidates fulfilling the above eligibility criteria shall walk-in for a written test and interview at CPCRI, Kasaragod on 31.12.2012 at 10:00 am

Note :Interested candidates must come with a set of bio data and original certificates in proof of age, educational qualifications etc. Those who do not produce the original Degree/PO certificates OR provisional certificate will not be allowed to attend the test / interview, Those who are qualified in written test will only be permitted to attend the interview.
