Opening for JRF for "Bioinformatician" @ ACTREC


The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) is the new state-of-the-art R&D satellite of the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), which also includes under its umbrella the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), the largest cancer hospital in Asia. ACTREC has the mandate to function as a national centre for treatment, research and education in cancer. TMC is an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act (1860) and the Bombay Public Trust Act (1950).
  • Position: Junior Research Fellow
  • Title of the Project:  The Size & Shape Control Mechanism Of Golgi Apparatus 
  • Funding AgencyDBT  
  • Investigator:  Dr. Dibyendu Bhattacharyya
  • Duration of the Project: Three years from the date of Appointment 
  • Consolidated Salary: Rs. 12,000 + 3600 (HRA 30%) = Total Rs.15,600/- per month.

Qualifications:
  • The project involves mathematical model development in simulation biology based methods for organelle size research.
  • The candidate must have a M.Sc. in Bioinformatics or similar from a recognized University with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
  • The candidate must have proven skill of programming.
  • Experience in Microscopy and an exposure to basic biology would be highly preferred.
